The tree of al-Zaqqum 43 shall be the food of the guilty sinners. 44 It is like pitch. It will fume in the belly 45 Like the boiling of scalding water. 46 Lay hold of him, and drag him unto the midst of the Flaming Fire. 47 Then pour upon his head the torment of boiling water. 48 Taste this; you who considered yourself the mighty, the honourable! 49 This is the very thing which you [deniers of the truth] were wont to call in question!" 50 Indeed, the righteous will be in a secure place; 51 amid gardens and springs, 52 Attired in silk and brocade, they shall be arrayed face to face. 53 so it will be. We shall wed them to maidens with large, dark eyes. 54 They will call therein for every kind of fruit, in peace and security. 55 They shall not taste death except the death in this world. And Allah will save them from the chastisement of Hell 56 As a Bounty from thy Lord! that will be the supreme achievement! 57 (O Prophet), We have made this Book easy in your tongue so that they may take heed. 58 So you wait. They are also waiting. 59

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
