Nay, by the moon, 32 By the receding night 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 it is a warning to man, 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
