The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
