The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
