The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter. 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the Crushing Fire. 4 How will you comprehend what Hutama is? 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 It shall be made into a vault over them, 8 in its long columns of flames. 9
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
