Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha'. Mim. 1 This (Qur’an) is sent down from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God; so direct yourselves straight to Him, and seek His forgiveness. Woe to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity, 6 (To) those who do not give poor-rate and they are unbelievers in the hereafter. 7 Surely those who believe, and do righteous deeds shall have a wage unfailing.' 8
