۞ And when a description of the son of Marium is given, lo! your people raise a clamor thereat. 57 And say: "Are our deities better or he?" They say this only for disputing. Surely they are a contentious people. 58 Jesus was a servant of Ours to whom We had granted favors and whom We made as an example for the Israelites. 59 Had We willed, We would have appointed angels among you to be successors in the earth. 60 And lo! verily there is knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path. 61 And let not the Shaitan prevent you; surely he is your open enemy. 62 NOW WHEN Jesus came [to his people] with all evidence of the truth, he said: "I have now come unto you with wisdom, and to make clear unto you some of that on which you are at variance: hence, be conscious of God, and pay heed unto me. 63 Assuredly God is my Lord and your Lord; therefore serve Him; this is a straight path.' 64 The various factions among them differed -- woe then to those who did wrong: they will suffer the punishment of a painful Day. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour that it shall come upon them suddenly, while they perceive not? 66 On that Day close friends shall become enemies of each other, except those who fear (Allah). 67
