The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence 2 (Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt; 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few of later ages, 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 And clustered plantains, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 and gushing water, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 And made them virginal, 36 chastely amorous, 37 for those on the Right, 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
