Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
