The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
