The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nigh unto men has drawn their reckoning, while they in heedlessness are yet turning away; 1 There cometh not unto them a fresh admonition from their Lord but they listen to it while they are playing. 2 With hearts preoccupied. And they confer in secret. The wrong-doers say: Is this other than a mortal like you? Will ye then succumb to magic when ye see (it)? 3 He said: My Lord knows what is spoken in the heaven and the earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 4 Aye! they say: a medley of dreams; aye! he hath fabricated it; aye! he is a poet; so let him bring us a sign even as the ancients were sent with. 5 Of the villages We destroyed, there was not one that believed. What, will they not believe? 6 (O Muhammad), even before you We never sent any other than human beings as Messengers, and to them We sent revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 nor did We fashion them as bodies that ate not food, neither were they immortal; 8 then We made true the promise We gave them and We delivered them, and whomsoever We would; and We destroyed the prodigal. 9 Certainly We have revealed to you a Book in which is your good remembrance; what! do you not then understand? 10
