And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 the people of Pharaoh, who refuse to be conscious of Me!" 11 : He said: "O Lord, I fear that they will deny me. 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 "So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds; 16 ‘That you let the Descendants of Israel go with us.’” 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 Moses replied: "I committed that act erringly. 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." 24 Fir'awn said unto those around him: hear ye not? 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 Said Firaun, “Then bring it, if you are of the truthful.” 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
