Have you seen the one who turned away 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
