QAF. I CALL to witness the glorious Qur'an. 1 But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! 2 that after we die and become dust, we shall be brought back to life again. This seems far from reality". 3 We know what the earth consumes of them, for We have the Book that preserves everything. 4 Aye! they belie the truth when it cometh unto them; wherefore they are in an affair confused. 5 Have they not looked at the heaven above them, how We have made it and adorned it, and there are no rifts in it? 6 We spread out the earth and set upon it solid mountains and We brought forth from it all kinds of delightful plants, 7 A vision and a reminder for every penitent slave. 8 And We send down blessed water (rain) from the sky, then We produce therewith gardens and grain (every kind of harvests) that are reaped. 9 And the tall palm-trees having spadices closely set one above another, 10 As a provision for our bondmen; and therewith We have quickened a dead land. Even so will be the coming forth. 11 Before them was denied (the Hereafter) by the People of Noah, the Companions of the Rass, the Thamud, 12 And the A-ad, and Fir'awn, and the brethren of Lut. 13 And the dwellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba'; everyone of them denied (their) Messengers, so My Threat took effect. 14 So did We tire by creating the first time? Rather they doubt being created again. 15
