Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 till a known term decreed? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
