In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Those who disbelieve and bar from the way of Allah, Allah will cause their deeds go astray. 1 And those who accepted faith and did good deeds and believed in what has been sent down upon Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) – and that is the truth from their Lord – Allah has relieved them of some of their evils and refined their condition. 2 This because those who reject Allah follow vanities, while those who believe follow the Truth from their Lord: Thus does Allah set forth for men their lessons by similitudes. 3 When you meet the unbelievers, smite their necks, then, when you have made wide slaughter among them, tie fast the bonds; then set them free, either by grace or ransom, till the war lays down its loads. So it shall be; and if God had willed, He would have avenged Himself upon them; but that He may try some of you by means of others. And those who are slain in the way of God, He will not send their works astray. 4 He will guide them and improve their condition. 5 And bring them in unto the Garden which He hath made known to them. 6 O you who believe! if you help (the cause of) Allah, He will help you and make firm your feet. 7 but as for those who are bent on denying the truth, ill fortune awaits them, since He will let all their [good] deeds go to waste: 8 That is because they are averse to that which Allah hath revealed, therefor maketh He their actions fruitless. 9 ۞ So did they not travel in the land to see what sort of fate befell those who preceded them? Allah poured ruin upon them; and for the disbelievers are several like it. 10 This, because God is the Protector of all who have attained to faith, whereas they who deny the truth have no protector. 11
