Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the Reality? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In an elevated garden, 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
