And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you call?" 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 "The One Who created me, so He will guide me." 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 "And forgive my father - he is indeed astray." 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 "So now we do not have any intercessors." The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none. 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
