Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
