The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few of later ages, 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and spreading shade 30 and flowing water 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 And made them virgins. 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those of the right hand. 38
