a good many of olden times, 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 Those on the Left: how unfortunate are those on the Left! 41 In scorching wind and boiling hot water. 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good, 44 and before that they lived at ease, 45 and persisted in heinous sins. 46 and constantly said: 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we then be restored to life? 47 Or our fathers of yore? 48 Say: "Yea, those of old and those of later times, 49 shall be gathered to the appointed time of a known day. 50 Then verily ye, O ye erring, denying people. 51 You will indeed eat from the Zaqqum tree. 52 filling your bellies, with it 53 "And drink Boiling Water on top of it: 54 Drinkers even as the drinking of thirsty camels. 55 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Judgement. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Just consider (the semen) that you emit, 58 Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators? 59 It is We Who ordained death upon you and We are not to be frustrated. 60 To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not. 61 And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Is it you or We Who make them grow? 64 If We willed, surely We would make it chaff, so that ye would be left wondering. 65 'We are debt-loaded; 66 Nay, but we have been deprived [of our livelihood]!" 67 Have you considered the water you drink? 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds or is it We Who brought it down? 69 Had We wanted, We could have made it salty. Why then do you not give thanks? 70 Did you consider the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? 72 We have made it a reminder and an advantage for the wayfarers of the desert. 73 Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 74
