AND LO! [In the course of his wanderings,] Moses said to his servant: "I shall not give up until I reach the junction of the two seas, even if I [have to] spend untold years [in my quest]!" 60 So when they had reached the junction of the two (rivers) they forgot their fish, and it took its way into the sea, going away. 61 When they had passed over, he said to his page, 'Bring us our breakfast; indeed, we have encountered weariness from this our journey.' 62 He replied: "Sawest thou (what happened) when we betook ourselves to the rock? I did indeed forget (about) the Fish: none but Satan made me forget to tell (you) about it: it took its course through the sea in a marvellous way!" 63 Moses said, "That is just what we were looking for." So they went back the way they had come, 64 So they found one of Our servants, on whom We had bestowed Mercy from Ourselves and whom We had taught knowledge from Our own Presence. 65 Musa (Moses) said to him (Khidr) "May I follow you so that you teach me something of that knowledge (guidance and true path) which you have been taught (by Allah)?" 66 He said: verily thou wilt not be able to have with me patience; 67 "And how can you have patience about a thing which you know not?" 68 He said, 'Yet thou shalt find me, if God will, patient; and I shall not rebel against thee in anything.' 69 Said he, 'Then if thou followest me, question me not on anything until I myself introduce the mention of it to thee.' 70
