S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Sad. CONSIDER this Qur'an, endowed with all that one ought to remember! 1 But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before them, and they [then] called out; but it was not a time for escape. 3 And they marvel that there should come unto them a warner from among themselves. And the infidels say: this is a magician and a liar! 4 Has he turned so many gods into one deity? This is indeed a strange thing!" 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 We have not heard of this in the latest religion. This is not but a fabrication. 7 Has this Exhortation been sent down among us only to him, to the exclusion of all others?” Nay, they are in doubt regarding My Exhortation, and are saying all this because they have not yet had any taste of My chastisement. 8 Or, are with them the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Bestower? 9 Or have they the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all between? If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)! 10 this host too, among other hosts, is bound to suffer defeat. 11 Cried lies before them the people of Noah, and Ad, and Pharaoh, he of the tent-pegs, 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lout (Lot), and the dwellers of the wood; such were the confederates. 13 Not one of them but did deny the messengers, therefor My doom was justified, 14
