The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has taught the Koran. 2 Created man, 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
