Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 Noah said, "My people, I am warning you plainly. 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 He will forgive your sins and will grant you respite till an appointed time. When the time appointed by God arrives, it cannot be postponed, if you only knew." 4 He said, “My Lord! I invited my people night and day.” 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. 7 "I preached to them aloud, in public. 8 and preached to them in public, and also addressed them in secret. 9 Then I said, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Surely He is the most forgiving. 10 'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers. 12 What ails you, that you look not for majesty in God, 13 Knowing that He has created you by various stages? 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 and set the moon therein for a light and the sun for a lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth. 17 and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
