Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though they make excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
