The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And the day resplendent 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 you strive in various ways. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
