Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 Nay, but ye will come to know! 3 Again, yes certainly, you will soon realise! 4 Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) 5 For ye will behold hell-fire. 6 In the end you will indeed, most surely, behold it with the eye of certainty: 7 Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned regarding the favours. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
