Al-Hijjr 4 of 6
Verily those who keep away from evil and follow the straight path shall be in the midst of gardens and springs of water. 45 (Their greeting will be): "Enter ye here in peace and security." 46 And We remove whatever rancour may be in their breasts. As brethren, face to face, (they rest) on couches raised. 47 No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed. 48 ۞ (Muhammad), tell My servants that I am All-forgiving and All-merciful 49 At the same time, My chastisement is highly painful. 50 And tell them of Abraham's guests, 51 When they entered his presence and said, "Peace!" He said, "We feel afraid of you!" 52 They said, 'Be not afraid; behold, we give thee good tidings of a cunning boy.' 53 He said: Do you give me good news (of a son) when old age has come upon me?-- Of what then do you give me good news! 54 They said: "The good tiding we give you is of truth. Do not, therefore, be of those who despair." 55 He said, "No one despairs of the mercy of his Lord except those who are in error. 56 He asked: 'Messengers, what is your errand' 57 "We have been sent," they said, "to (punish) a sinful people, 58 "(All) except the family of Lout (Lot). Them all we are surely going to save (from destruction). 59 "Except his wife, of whom We have decreed that she shall be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed)." 60

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
