The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 We gave them Our signs, but they turned away from them. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 Then the Blast caught them in the morning 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 (Muhammad), We have given you the seven most repeated (verses) and the great Quran. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - 89 Like (those) We had sent to those schismatics who slandered their Books 90 who have broken the Koran into parts, 91 By your Lord We shall question them one and all 92 For that which they have been working. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 And surely We know that your breast straitens at what they say; 97 but extol thou thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise Him, and be of those who prostrate themselves [before Him] in adoration, 98 And go on worshipping your Lord till the certainty (of death) comes upon you. 99
