[Allah said], "O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing. 51 And lo! this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me. 52 But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 Do they think that We enlarge them in wealth and children, 55 Are quickly giving them goodness? In fact, they do not know. 56 Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord 57 and who believe in their Sustainer's messages, 58 who associate none with their Lord, 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 Are the ones who hasten to goodness and outpace the others. 61 We do not burden a soul beyond capacity, for We have a record that tells the truth. No wrong will be done to any one. 62 Aye! their hearts are in bewilderment in respect thereof, and they have works beside that, of which they are workers. 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us. 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 in arrogance, as if you were abandoning a story-teller. 67 Have they not pondered over the Word (of Allah, i.e. what is sent down to the Prophet SAW), or has there come to them what had not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him? 69 Or say they: "There is madness in him?" Nay, but he brought them the truth [i.e. "(A) Tauhid: Worshipping Allah Alone in all aspects (B) The Quran (C) The religion of Islam,"] but most of them (the disbelievers) are averse to the truth. 70 Were the Truth to follow their desires, the order of the heavens and the earth and those who dwell in them would have been ruined. Nay, the fact is that We have brought to them their own remembrance; and yet it is from their own remembrance that they are turning away. 71 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask them for some wages? But the recompense of your Lord is better, and He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 You are calling them to a Straight Way, 73 And indeed those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviated from the Straight Path. 74 ۞ Were We to be merciful to them and remove from them their present afflictions, they would persist in their transgression, blindly wandering on. 75 Already We have seized them with the punishment, but they neither humbled themselves to their Lord, nor did they beseech Him, 76 until We open before them a gate of [truly] severe suffering [in the life to come]: and then, lo! they will be broken in spirit. 77
