3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
