Did you (O Muhammad SAW) observe him who turned away (from Islam). 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
