The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
