Say: "O my Lord! if Thou wilt show me (in my lifetime) that which they are warned against,- 93 My Lord! then set me not among the wrongdoing folk. 94 [Pray thus] for, behold, We are most certainly able to let thee witness [the fulfillment, even in this world, of] whatever We promise them! 95 Repel evil with the best deeds; We well know the matters that they fabricate. 96 And say: 'O my Lord, I take refuge in Thee from the evil suggestions of the Satans, 97 I seek refuge with You, Lord, lest they should come near me." 98 [For such is the state of the disbelievers], until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send me back 99 so that perhaps I shall act righteously for the rest of my life." Although he will say so but his wish will never come true. After death they will be behind a barrier until the day of their resurrection. 100 And when the trumpet is blown there will be no kinship among them that day, nor will they ask of one another. 101 Then, those whose scales (of good deeds) are heavy, - these, they are the successful. 102 But those whose scales are light - those are the ones who have lost their souls, [being] in Hell, abiding eternally. 103 The Fire will burn their faces, and therein they will grin, with displaced lips (disfigured). 104 [It will be said]. "Were not My verses recited to you and you used to deny them?" 105 They will say: "Our Lord! Our misfortune prevailed over us. We were indeed an erring people. 106 "Our Lord! bring us out of this: if ever we return (to Evil), then shall we be wrong-doers indeed!" 107 He shall say: slink away there unto, and speak not unto Me. 108 Verily! There was a party of My slaves, who used to say: "Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of all who show mercy!" 109 But you took them for a laughingstock, so much so that they made you forget My Remembrance while you used to laugh at them! 110 Verily I have recompensed them today, for they bore patiently, verily they are the achievers. 111 He (Allah) will say: "What number of years did you stay on earth?" 112 They shall say, 'We have tarried a day, or part of a day; ask the numberers!' 113 He will say, "You only stayed for a little while, if only you knew. 114 Did you think that We had created you only for play, and that you would never be returned to Us' 115 [KNOW,] then, [that] God is sublimely exalted, the Ultimate Sovereign, the Ultimate Truth: there is no deity save Him, the Sustainer, in bountiful almightiness enthroned! 116 And whosoever calls upon another god with God, whereof he has no proof, his reckoning is with his Lord; surely the unbelievers shall not prosper. 117 And say: 'My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of the merciful' 118
