And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Yet these say: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
