Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. 42 And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
