The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 has taught the Koran. 2 Created man, 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
