Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Blessed be He in whose hand is the Kingdom -- He is powerful over everything -- 1 who created death and life, that He might try you which of you is fairest in works; and He is the All-mighty, the All-forgiving -- 2 He Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: seest thou any flaw? 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 And assuredly We have bedecked the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for satans: and for them We have gotten ready the torment of the Blaze. 5 The chastisement of Hell awaits those who disbelieve in their Lord. What a wretched destination! 6 When they will be cast into it, they will hear it roar as it boils, 7 and wellnigh bursts asunder with rage. As often as a troop is cast into it, its keepers ask them, 'Came there no warner to you?'; 8 They will say, “Yes, why not – indeed a Herald of Warning did come to us – in response we denied and said ‘Allah has not sent down anything – you are not except in a great error’.” 9 And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” 10 and thus they will confess their sin; far from God's mercy are the inmates of Hell. 11 As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 12 And whether you speak softly or proclaim it aloud; He indeed knows what lies within the hearts! 13 How could it be that He who has created [all] should not know [all]? Yea, He alone is unfathomable [in His wisdom,] aware! 14
