NAY, but consider the moon! 32 By the receding night 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 like frightened donkeys 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
