The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 by the promised day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 They sat by it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 Whereas Allah is, from behind them, Encompassing. 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
