In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
