[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] 25 and make my task easy for me. 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 "That they understand my speech, 28 And give me as assistant from my family 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen my back by him, 31 and associate him with me in my task. 32 That we may exalt You much 33 and remember You much: 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 Saying: Throw him into the ark, and throw it into the river, then the river shall throw it on to the bank, and there an enemy to Me and an enemy to him shall take him. And I endued thee with love from Me that thou mightest be trained according to My will, 39 When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. 40 for I have chosen thee for Mine Own service. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 “Both of you go to Firaun; he has indeed rebelled.” 43 Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear." 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 'Fear not,' said He. 'Surely I shall be with you, hearing and seeing. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 for, behold, it has been revealed to us that [in the life to come] suffering shall befall all who give the lie to the truth and turn away [from it]!"' 48 [But when God's message was conveyed unto Pharaoh,] he said: "Who, now, is this Sustainer of you two, O Moses?" 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 Pharaoh asked: "Then, what is the state of the former generations?" 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation. 53 Eat, [then, of this produce of the soil,] and pasture your cattle [thereon]. In all this, behold, there are messages indeed for those who are endowed with reason: 54
