The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Their reckoning draweth nigh for mankind, while they turn away in heedlessness. 1 Never cometh there unto them a new reminder from their Lord but they listen to it while they play, 2 and their hearts are preoccupied with trivial matters. The unjust ones whisper to each other and say, "Is he (Muhammad) more than a mere mortal like you? How can you follow that which you know is only a magic?" 3 Say, "My Lord knows every word spoken in the heavens and on the earth. He is All Hearing, All Knowing." 4 But they say, "[The revelation is but] a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous [messengers] were sent [with miracles]." 5 Not a [single] city which We destroyed believed before them, so will they believe? 6 And We sent not before you, [O Muhammad], except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the people of the message if you do not know. 7 And We did not create them (the Messengers, with) bodies that ate not food, nor were they immortals, 8 Then We made good unto them the promise; so We delivered them and those whom We willed, and We destroyed the extravagant. 9 We have certainly sent down to you a Book in which is your mention. Then will you not reason? 10
