The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
