Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Poets (Alshu'araa'). Sent down in Mecca after The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah) before The Ant (Al-Naml)
