Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 and the burden-bearers 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
