In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 But as admonition for him who fears -- 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high. 4 the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness? 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil. 6 And if you speak aloud – so He surely knows the secret and that which is more concealed. 7 Allah - there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names. 8 AND HAS the story of Moses ever come within thy ken? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance." 10 So when he came near the fire, it was announced, “O Moosa!” 11 "O Moses, I am verily your Lord, so take off your shoes, for you are in the holy plain of Towa. 12 And I! I have chosen thee, hearken thou then to that which shall be revealed. 13 "Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I: So serve thou Me (only), and establish regular prayer for celebrating My praise. 14 Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives: 15 So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. 16 “And what is this in your right hand, O Moosa?” 17 Moses answered: "This is my staff. I lean on it (when I walk), and with it I beat down leaves for my flock, and I have many other uses for it." 18 Allah said: cast it down, O Musa! 19 So he threw it down, and all of a sudden, it turned into a fast-moving serpent. 20 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. 21 "Now place thy hand within thy armpit: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish, as another sign [of Our grace,] 22 So We would show thee some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel." 24

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
