Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because on the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness. 30 You cannot frustrate Him in the earth; you have no protector nor helper against Allah. 31 And among His signs are the ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas: 32 Had He wanted, He could have stopped the wind and let the ships remain motionless on the surface of the sea, in this there is evidence (of the Truth) for all those who are patient and grateful, 33 Or He may make them founder for what they have earned, and (even then) pardon most; 34 And (that) those who dispute about Our communications may know; there is no place of refuge for them. 35 Whatever ye are given (here) is (but) a convenience of this life: but that which is with Allah is better and more lasting: (it is) for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord: 36 And those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, and when they are angry, they forgive, 37 Those who hearken to their Lord, and establish regular Prayer; who (conduct) their affairs by mutual Consultation; who spend out of what We bestow on them for Sustenance; 38 And those who, when tyranny strikes them, they defend themselves, 39 The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loveth not those who do wrong. 40 Yet indeed, as for any who defend themselves after having been wronged - no blame whatever attaches to them: 41 blame attaches but to those who oppress [other] people and behave outrageously on earth, offending against all right: for them there is grievous suffering in store! 42 And whoever is patient and forgiving, these most surely are actions due to courage. 43
