People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 And all that they had done (for security) availed them nothing. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 (We have given you the Quran) as We had given (the Bible) to those who divided themselves into groups 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 concerning that they were doing. 93 Therefore publicly announce what you are commanded, and turn away from the polytheists. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 but extol thou thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise Him, and be of those who prostrate themselves [before Him] in adoration, 98 And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death). 99
